About LAYOM - Business Partners and Sponsorship
We want to thank our business partners for supporting the Los Angeles Youth Opportunity Movement.

Without you, we would have very few opportunities and jobs for our youth. You are an essential part of the success of thousands of young people in Los Angeles.

The Business Mentorship Council (BMC) is a group of local business leaders committed to creating and providing training, internship, employment, and mentorship opportunities for youth. We are always open to new ideas! These are just a few ways to participate:

1. Jobs, Jobs, Jobs
The Los Angeles Youth Opportunity Movement prepares our young adults for the workforce by equipping them with the necessary skills to become successful employees. Do you have positions available at your company? Do you need a steady supply of qualified applicants? Are you willing to give our youth a chance? We're happy to help.

2. Become a Sponsor
We need sponsorship for many of our events each year: job fairs, community celebrations, youth recognition events, and conferences. You can provide raffle prizes, food, space, supplies or funding. Let us know what you can help us with, and we'll do the rest.

3. Speak To Us
Speak to our youth about what businesses look for in employees: professionalism, customer service, specific skills. These messages are most powerful when they come directly from you. We need speakers for job readiness training, conferences, and events throughout the year.

4. Host a Job Shadow
Each year during the week of Groundhog Day, we send many of our young people out to shadow a professional in their field of interest. If you can spare just one day to host a young person in your office, you will be providing an invaluable experience and a new perspective.

5. Be a Tour Guide
Host a site visit or tour of your company. These visits are a great opportunity for youth to gain insight into the working world by meeting employees, observing and asking questions.

6. Become a Mentor
Over 3,000 youth in Watts, Boyle Heights and the San Fernando Valley are enrolled in our program. They need role models and mentors. Invest a little time, and reap a priceless reward.
