We are a Work Readiness Certification
Youth Service Provider:
The Community Development
Department (CDD), The Los Angeles Chamber
of Commerce and L.A. Youth at Work, as well
as the Youth Council, have developed a Work
Readiness Certification that can ensure
that work-readiness (as defined by business)
is achievable within the system that prepares
youth, and that youth can earn a certificate
that will put them at the head of the line
when seeking employment in the city. The
Work Readiness Certification builds on and
documents basic workplace, academic and
employability skills that pertain to all
industries at the entry level.
A Work Readiness Certificate is a portable
credential that certifies to a potential
employer that an applicant possesses the
basic skills necessary to obtain and retain
employment as defined by the employer. The
foundation of the Work Readiness Certification
is a simulation of the interview and hiring
process that mimics the procedure for determining
youth eligibility for employment that is
consistent with employers' expectations.
The
City of Los Angeles, WIA Title I financially assisted program or activity
is an equal opportunity employer/program. Auxiliary aids and services
are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.
